The Therapeutic Recreation Team Leader is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of a therapeutic recreation program which meets the physical, mental, psycho-social and spiritual needs of the residents. The position must follow established regulations and policies and procedures.
|Duties:||Duties: Major job functions include providing supervision/training/education for Recreation staff; supervision of assigned volunteers; maintaining calendar of events and weekly staff assignments; planning and conducting daily activity programs; assisting with outings; recruiting and transporting residents to and from programming; conducting 1:1 therapeutic visits; participating in planning and special events. Documentation responsibilities include a caseload of residents; recording daily attendance; participating in care/family conferences; quarterly documentation, etc. In addition is responsible for additional reports and records specific to the department; maintains a safe and orderly environment, etc.
|Qualifications:||Qualifications: This position requires a degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Occupational Therapy, or related degree and/or experience with geriatrics. Must have a special interest in working with the elderly. The successful candidate must assume responsibility for learning and following therapeutic recreational techniques and documentation procedures. In addition, applicants must have the ability to write and follow instructions and to generate enthusiasm during programs and participate in special events. Applicants must also maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
Position is working 8:30a-4:30p, Monday-Friday (10 days per pay period/75 hours per pay period). This will also include working a holiday rotation.
